Thornhill is fully centrally heated with two en-suite double bedrooms and one en-suite twin bedroom.
All three bedrooms have colour TV's with Sky TV.
The well equipped kitchen with large fridge/freezer,
washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, hob, double oven and microwave has a dining area which seats six people with ease.
Directly outside the dining room there is a patio
area with seating for six where you can watch the
sun setting over the Isle of Skye.
The lounge which has panoramic views looking out towards the Outer Hebrides is very comfortably furnished and has the added benefits of both a
wide screen TV and a wood burning stove.
All bed linen, towels etc are provided.
Thornhill is disabled friendly
The centre of Gairloch village which is only a five minute walk away has a hotel with a bar, butcher, grocer, newsagent, post office and gift shops.
The Gairloch Heritage Museum, Mustn't Grumble
Bar and Takeaway, Leisure Centre and Library
are approximately one mile away.
The Leisure Centre offers many outdoor pursuits
including, rock climbing, abseiling and kayaking.
A nine hole golf course stretching alongside a beautiful beach is a five minute drive or a twenty minute walk from Thornhill.
A brisk twenty five minute walk will get you to our other self catering accommodation, "Bay Cottage"
and also the Pony Trekking Centre within the stunningly scenic Gairloch Estate at Flowerdale.
Here there are many scenic forest trails suitable
for walkers, joggers and mountain bikes.
Sea Eagles are a fairly common in the area and
are very often spotted from Thornhill.
Thornhill enjoys views over Gairloch village and beyond
to the Torridon mountains and over the sea to Skye and
the Outer Hebrides. This new house finished to a high
standard is situated at the base of the surrounding hills
which accommodate several lochs with wild brown trout.

Bay Cottage is centrally heated, has one double bedroom,
a bathroom with bath and shower and an open plan dining
area, kitchen and lounge. The very comfortable lounge has a
DVD and a colour TV complete with Sky TV.
All bed linen, towels etc are supplied.
The cottage is very conveniently situated in Charleston overlooking the bay opposite Gairloch Harbour where fishing can be had off the pier.
Pier road also offers a Chemistore, newsagent, cafe, post office, gift shop and a chandlery where tackle and bait can be purchased. There is an Internet facility next to the cafe.
Sea and wildlife boat trips can be booked at the harbour as can sea fishing trips and the glass bottom boat.
Bay Cottage is a brisk twenty five minute walk from "Thornhill", but only a short walk away from the Old Inn Hotel and a ten minute walk from the golf course.
There are many lovely walks to suit all ages in and around Gairloch.
During the summer season many local Inns, hotels and village community halls hold ceilidh and musical evenings.

Directions
Approaching Gairloch on the A832 from the south, drive straight through the village until you reach a left turn opposite McColls shop. Take this left onto the B8021. Follow this road along the sea front until you get to the Millcroft Hotel. Turn right here and drive up the hill to almost the end of the road ( just over a mile). Turn right at the sign for The Old Byre and Thornhill is on the left.

We have something very special for all wildlife fans who stay at Bay Cottage. Pine Martins can be regularly fed on the bird table just outside the kitchen door.
Directions
On entering Gairloch from the south on the A832, take the first left just before the harbour. Follow the road round the bay and Bay Cottage is the second house on the left hand side.
Special Notes
All heating/electricity costs for Thornhill and Bay Cottage are included in the rent.
We regret that neither pets nor smoking are permitted in either let.
Bed linen and towels are provided free of charge.
Both properties are open all year round.
